Are you a professional housekeeper looking for a new live-in role?
A lovely full-time live-in housekeeper cook is sought to look after a traditional 10-bedroom English house located on a beautiful estate in East Devon. This is the Principal’s main residence, and he is there about half the time.
The main responsibility of the housekeeper cook will be to maintain the cleanliness of this fine house, cook and serve healthy dishes for the Principal. In the summer and autumntime, you will be responsible for recruiting local seasonal staff to help with parties and social events and look after the Principal’s guests.
The successful candidate will be flexible, responsible, with the highest standards, kind, easy-going, thoughtful and organized, as this is essential for this role. The household doesn’t include any young children (the Principal has four adult children) or pets and traveling is not involved. Experience with antique furniture and fine arts is a must.
Working schedule: 40 h/week. When the Principal is there, you will need to be very flexible and work some evenings and during some weekends, when needed.
Starting date: ASAP to June 2021
The duties include:
- Managerial skills to organize small social events
- Sweeping, hoovering, cleaning, dusting throughout
- Healthy cooking
- Laundry and ironing
- Organising the bedroom and changing bedding
- Cleaning all areas of the kitchen, tidying after meals
- Deep cleaning of bathrooms
- Organising the cupboards, fridge, pantries
- Cleaning down surfaces and polishing
- Window cleaning, fluffing pillows
- Running daily errands
The minimum requirements to apply are:
- Previous experience in working for a private family
- Fluent in English
- Confident driver
- Cooking and managerial skills
- DBS and references required prior to start
Job Benefits
The salary range is £25,000 to £34,000 gross per annum, subject to experience. The position comes with 28 days of paid holidays (including bank holidays). The accommodation consists in a two-bedroom separate cottage, property overhead bills included. A car may be provided. The food is not included. Free parking avalable.
