The Expected Live-In/Live-Out Governess Salary in the UK

Our clients are permitted to negotiate governess wages with the candidates themselves. The expected salary for a governess may differ depending on living arrangements. Most will be granted accommodation within the family home, and this can offset some of their salaries. The average wage of the governess should be between £25,000-£30,000. This should be reviewed in line with the current market rate and it may need to be increased depending on specialist skills or qualifications.
